So since Saturday I could feel it coming. It must have been the weather or it could have been the sick kid that breathed on me when I was taking care of him... JAS!!!! But I got this cold or flu that is going around. I thought I was gonna beat it this time!!
I am happy to report that since I quit smoking in June (7 months ago) It has been a little bit of a rollercoster ride with illnesses but it is getting better.
I found that while I was a "smoker" (yuk I HATE everything about it now) each time I got sick, it was horrible, everything was worse, the pain, the slime and all the ickyness, the slime in my throat and chest was horrible!
After I quit smoking, I got sick once, and that one time was like nothing I ever felt. I was oozing with slime, burning with fever and sweating to the point where I had to buy a new bed. I found one good doctor that explained that my body was likely ridding the toxins. Once I got over this, I started the gym.
While I was going to the gym, I was feeling the change. I as getting stonger. After everything in the past 4 years, I was finally set on moving on. I have everything, the only thing lacking was my health. I had gone into undiagnosed depression after losing my mom. I had avoided my doctor.
Now it has been over half a year since I quit smoking, and life is good. Even though I have this cold, it is not as bad as it was before. Little changes make a big difference.
Now I hate smoking, I hate the smell and I cannot stand that people smoke outside of malls or restaurants. I hate the smell on peoples clothing. While I understand the need to smoke, I still think that instead of making the pictures on the boxes more explicit, I think we should just burn all the tobacco in the world. Lets make it instinct that was people don't have to die from lung cancer, and people who used to smoke don't GAG and die from second hand smoke. DID YOU KNOW THAT AFTER 15 YEARS OF QUITTING YOUR BODY REVERSES THE EFFECT... SO IT IS AS IF YOU NEVER SMOKED BEFORE. After a year your lungs are 50% healthier.
Anyways, I have a cold, and I was feeling bitchy, so I had to give my 2 cents.

Excellent! It's a tough habit to quit, and many people have different methods to gradually or instantly stop smoking. Exercise is very useful - it's kind of like the opposite of how unhealthy cigarette smoking is.
