Tea Off Teaopia vs. Davids Tea

I have already blogged about finding this new tea place called Davids Tea.

The thing I didn't blog about was how teaopia took my tea-inity. Yes I know that was a lame joke, but it did. Teaopia was my first and was my support while I started my new healthy lifestyle. There is something special between Teaopia and I. The sales people there were friendly and helpful. They knew enough about the product.

The first things from I bought from Teaopia were:

Slim and Slender
Bourbon Vanilla
Jiaogulan
Mate Chai
Matteccino
Coco Caramel
Wild Clover Honey
Agave Nectar (done)
2 Brown Sugar Sticks
1 White Sugar Stick
Steeping Ball
Steeping Travel Mug
Tea Master

I have already expressed that I hated the fact that Teaopia sold a "minimun" of 50grams, and I think that is still something that I absolutely hate. In my last blog I compared the 2 stores. I still have not even touched my teas since that day, about half a month ago due to bad things in my life.

Starting on Monday, I plan to return to that healthy lifestyle change and will be making tea a part of that again.

When I went to Davids Tea, I was able to buy smaller amounts and started with:

Read My Lips
Matcha Matsu
The Skinny
Love Tea #7
Pumpkin Chai

Now I must mention that I actually went to the new Bramalea location on the DAY it opened. The only reason I walked away with so many teas was becase of the sales girls (all were super friendly and smiling) There was one girl in particular... I believe she was East or West Indian, and OH MY GOODNESS this girl was overly excited in a genuine way about Davids Tea. She made me get excited too!!! She was So friendly, and knew about the history of Davids Tea and it's products and was excited about helping me.

Oh AND I have been eating at Aji Sai Japanese All You can Eat Sushi Buffet had amazing green tea worth mentioning and they packed the tea in a little white container and sent it home with me to enjoy... that was very nice of them because that green tea was BOMB!!!!

After Monday Stay tuned, I shall have a verdict!!!

DAVIDsTea vs Teaopia

VS
I found Teaopia 3 months ago and have been ADDICTED since and spending all my money there.

Yesterday I found a new tea store at Bramalea called DavidsTea.The thing that I liked best was that they didn't sell 50g minimum like Teaopia. I was able to buy 5 different teas, and I was buying between 8g-12g which made 3-5 cups. I was also able to buy 8g of Matcha to try. all for just under $8.00 CDN

I know that staff in the Teaopia stores are more that willing to brew the teas for you to sample in store, however I didn't want to spend my whole day going through all the teas to find one that I liked. Also, I am the type of person that always NEEDS to try new things, and it is more convenient to buy many different teas in smaller amounts than to buy 1(one) tea in a bigger amount (for the same price)

Now regarding tea quality, I did not actually try the other tea, but from the sample in store the quality was comparable.

The service was also comparable. They also had similar products (mugs, pots etc.)

They also had a many teas to choose from like Teaopia, and the ingredients in the teas are similar.

I think the prices are comparable as well but the other tea store will allow you to buy smaller quantities which works out to be a little less.

So I guess in the grand scheme of things, it comes down to what you are looking for, and how much you want to spend or buy and what your palette likes best.

I have so many new teas to try before I can conclusively decide which is better for my tastes.
